Cops harras us, damage our vehicle: E-rickshaw driver says



"We give around 5-6 lakh ever month to cops for allowing us to stand on road for commuters. However, cops harrash us and damage our vehicles" an E-rickshaw  driver told while being angry on cop who had a sharp knife,  had punctured his vehicle tyre which was standing at the turning point of road near by Nirman Vihar metro station.

Around 20-30 rickshaws stand every day and trio- commuters, e- rickshaw driver and cops --face the problems with one-another. Every day, i see, cops chase to 20-30 e- rickshaw halting traffic most of the time, flee to be caught.

I, being a daily commuter, be an eye-witness of mishap. Last time, a lady who was about to sit into e- rickshaw, escaped to fall down as loud voice was heard of cop chasing to punchier tyre and 20-30 e- rickshaw running altogether in narrow road and hitting each other from behind, while commuters, sitting in e- rickshaw, hold tightly, fear to be injured and shout at drivers to be rushed.

In a rush up, they drive  rickshaw in zigzag way. Even, minors drive it.

It's a tragic story of everyone. Drivers, the poor, desperate of having no job, have to ashamed by cops, commuters. They have to earn money by putting lots of efforts. Cop, being angry and disdain in controling traffic, has to stand under sun, in dust, in rain, in nights. Commuters who run daily from home to their work, are messed-up  between cops and e-rishshaws' quarrels.

Improvement commences from you

An 'incident' happened with me that mortified me besides being left at loss. Through metro, I was coming back to home from office. On the 5th day of my Job, i was brutally became weary by physically as well as mentally. I decided to sit on the floor seeing people sitting on it. Usually, people not finding seat, decide to sit at the edge of metro, Same I did. But, on that day, a man, around 35, approached us saying "you people should not sit on floor as its violence of rule".
